Fast track opened at airports for MKarta holders

Skopje, 2 January 2023 (MIA) – Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani officially revealed Monday that MKarta (MKCard) holders can use the fast track at the Skopje and Ohrid airports when traveling to the country.

Presented in May 2021, the MKarta project is a recognition and confirmation of notable individuals from the country living abroad, who have been promoting North Macedonia abroad through their work and professionalism.

Osmani said the MKarta project is a network of the country’s quality individuals in the diaspora, who have become prominent in the country they live in with their expertise and heightened engagement.

“The fast track at our airports, implemented in cooperation with the Interior Ministry, is a symbolic recognition of their work and quality and gratitude from our institutions and the state,” he stated.

MKarta holders so far include scientists, doctors, businesspeople, culture workers, etc. The diplomatic offices of the country abroad are in charge of detecting these individuals. MKarta holders are picked in a strict procedure. So far, 69 Macedonian nationals who live abroad have been issued MKarta.
