Exports up 20.1 percent, imports by 28.9 percent: statistics
Skopje, 7 November 2022 (MIA) - Total value of exported goods from the Republic of North Macedonia in period January-September amounted to EUR 6,16 billion, a 20.1% increase compared to the same period last year, while the value of imported goods in the same period was EUR 9 billion, or 28.9 % more than the same period last year, said the State Statistical Office on Monday.
Trade deficit was EUR 2,84 billion, while import coverage by export was 68.4 %.
The external trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, ferro-nickel and other supported catalysts.
In the imports, the most significant products are petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form, the electricity and colloidal precious metals; compounds, inorganic or organic, of precious metals, whether or not chemically defined; amalgams of precious metals.
According to the total external trade volume, the most important trade partners of the Republic of North Macedonia were Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria.
