Ex-intelligence official Grujevski arrested, then released, in Zagreb

Skopje, 14 April 2024 (MIA) - Former intelligence official Goran Grujevski was arrested yesterday in the Croatian capital Zagreb but was later released, the Ministry of Interior said on Sunday.

Interpol Croatia informed us yesterday that Goran Grujevski was arrested. Today, we received a notification that Grujevski was released, the MoI told MIA.

Back in July 2017, Grujevski and another intelligence officer Nikola Boshkovski fled to Greece after they had been indicted in case "Target Fortress" related to the unlawful mass wiretapping.

On 18 October 2017, they were arrested at the Thessaloniki airport using fake Bulgarian passports, but the Greek Supreme Court later rejected the request by the authorities for their extradition to North Macedonia.
