Skopje, 22 May 2023 (MIA) – The process of North Macedonia’s EU integration is a question of security, because all open questions in the country and the region can be abused for unwanted actions and inciting tensions, Minister of Defense Slavjanka Petrovska told Utrinski Pechat on Monday.

Petrovska said the commitment of the Government and the broader, informal coalition formed over the question of Euro-integrations and constitutional changes, is the right answer, and that politicians should lead the people instead of hiding behind them.

“I know it is difficult to talk about the constitutional changes, I know it is difficult to talk about political concessions, but great leaders in politics are recognized by their actions and don’t hide behind the people. It is easy to say let’s ask the people about every other question. Ultimately, we hold our positions because we have to create the solutions, and we have to adopt the decisions,” stressed Petrovska, adding that the future of the country depends on, she said, "these historic decisions."
