Skopje, 25 October 2022 (MIA) – “Makpetrol” was the only company to submit an official offer at the tender for procurement of natural gas of Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM). The offered November gas price for the heating plants is high and ESM is still contemplating whether to accept it or wait for other offers to be completed. Earlier, ESM said it would procure the November gas quantities for the heating plants from “Makpetrol”. Upon evaluation of the incomplete bids, ESM has concluded that the “Makpetrol” gas price is higher compared to the others. Therefore it is mulled whether to procure gas from “Makpetrol” or wait for completion of the other bids. “There is an official offer from ‘Makpetrol’. The second offer from a foreign company is an informative one and should be completed so that it is official. Upon evaluation of all offers, it has been concluded that the ‘Makpetrol’ gas price is higher compared to the others and it is mulled whether to procure the November gas for the heating plants from ‘Makpetrol’ or wait for completion of the other offers,” ESM told MIA. ESM was planning to procure gas for the next six months, both for the heating plants and cogeneration power plant TE-TO, but no offers came apart from “Makpetrol” by the expiration of the last week’s deadline.
