ESM director Vasko Kovachevski resigns citing personal reasons, to be replaced by Vasko Stefanov

Skopje, 6 April 2023 (MIA) - Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM) director Vasko Kovachevski has resigned citing personal reasons. Vasko Stefanov is to be appointed to replace him at the next government session.
Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski also confirmed the news speaking at a press conference on ESM's annual report on Thursday.
"I'd like to thank him because he invested all his knowledge, effort and time in managing the company amid an extremely difficult and delicate situation that came from the energy crisis," PM Kovachevski said.
Regarding the ESM director's decision, the PM said the two had already discussed it during the last year, adding that the decision is announced this morning, and a letter of resignation will be submitted on Friday to be verified at the next government session.
Vasko Kovachevski was elected president of ESM Management Board and ESM director general in July 2019. He came to the post having previously served as REK Bitola director, where he was appointed in January 2018.
Member of the ESM Management Board and Director of Finance Dobrila Stefanova is also leaving the company due to retirement, to be replaced by Marija Pejkova.
