Epidemiological situation closely monitored, no new measures planned: top doctor 
Skopje, 7 July 2022 (MIA) - Health authorities at this point are not planning to introduce new measures for protection against the coronavirus. The situation is monitored daily, which depends the most on hospital capacities and the number of fatalities, doctor Zlate Mehmedovikj, spokesman of the Infectious Diseases Commission, told MIA. "The Infectious Diseases Commission recently has said that the measures introduced will aim at preventing in line with the parameters of the Diseases Control Center, including the number of new infections as well as hospital capacities, i.e. the number of beds available, and the number of fatalities registered in daily Covid-related reports," said Mehmedovikj. He reiterated that the mask mandate is till in place in public transportation, pharmacies, health institutions, nursing homes and daycare centers for people with disabilities. The Commission will recommend new anti-coronavirus measures if the epidemiological situation changes, the doctor stated. Citing data from the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, Mehmedovikj said that there are still hospital beds available and that the number of visits to the outpatient clinic has increased. North Macedonia recorded 355 new COVID-19 cases after 1,129 tests were performed in the past 24 hours, 145 patients recovered and one died, the Health Ministry said on Thursday. At the moment, 1,474 cases are active nationwide.
