England hands Macedonian national football team its worst defeat

Manchester, 20 June 2023 (MIA) – The Macedonian national football team suffered a record loss in its match against the English national team in Manchester on Tuesday evening. The UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying match at Old Trafford ended with a 7-0 victory for the hosts.
Blagoja Milevski’s footballers were powerless in every part of the field. The Three Lions kicked off their thrashing in the 29th minute when Harry Kane opened the score, Bukayo Saka and Marcus Rashford joined him on the scoresheet by the end of the first half.
After only six minutes of the second half, Saka scored two more goals, completing the first hat-trick of his career. Kalvin Phillips’ goal and Kane’s second in the 73rd minute brought the score to 7:0.
England holds the top spot in Group C of the Euro 2024 qualifiers with 12 points from four games. Ukraine is second with six points from three matches, while Italy sits in third with three points out of two games. After the two defeats in June, the Macedonian national team has dropped to the fourth spot in the group, with three points from three games. Malta is bottom of the group with no points after four games.
