Copenhagen, 26 March 2026 (MIA) – Led by new coach Goce Sedloski, the Macedonian national football team is going head to head with Denmark in a 2026 World Cup semi-final play-off match in Copenhagen on Thursday.
"This is a big moment for all of us. The chance to secure a World Cup spot is the ultimate motive that brings our entire nation together. Denmark is a top-tier opponent, but we are here for a reason, too. I see energy, focus and will in the team. The players understand what this jersey represents, and I believe they’ll leave it all on the pitch. Strategy is set and we have a clear vision for the game, though the final call on the lineup and formation is mine," Sedloski told a press conference on Wednesday.
Denmark enters as favorite, but North Macedonia is ready to defend and strike when moments appear.
The matchup is kicking off at 8:45 pm at the Parken Stadion in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The winner of this match will advance to face either the Czech Republic or the Republic of Ireland in the playoff final on March 31.
