Skopje, 23 September 2021 (MIA) – Minister of Health Venko Filipche announced on Thursday that elementary and high school students nationwide will undergo COVID-19 screening. Screening methodology, he added, will be presented in greater detail in the next few days. “In the next few days we’ll present in greater detail the methodology for screening of elementary and high school students. Although small, there’s still a certain level of transmission among them, and we want to conduct a screening because children are often asymptomatic carriers,” Filipche stressed. He underlined that the screening entails COVID-19 testing with rapid antigen tests. Details, the Minister added, will be unveiled in the next few days, as the process requires preparation and parental consent. Filipche pointed out the vaccination site on the state university campus as a good model. “We held a meeting with university authorities to see how we can further motivate students to get jabbed,” he told reporters.
