Electricity price up 9.48% starting Jan. 1
Skopje, 30 December 2021 (MIA) – As of January 1, the price of electricity in North Macedonia will increase by 9.48%, Energy Regulatory Commission president Marko Bislimovski said on Thursday.
Moreover, he added that the lower electricity rate at off-peak hours during the day will no longer be valid as of January 1.
Bislimovski told a press conference that this is one of the most difficult decisions the ERC had to make since its establishment.
“In reality, the increase was supposed to be a lot higher, but we managed to reduce expenses. The government also took over the responsibility of assisting state enterprises in the upcoming period,” Bislimovski noted.
According to him, lower electricity price at off-peak hours at night and Sunday remains in force.
