Skopje, 28 February 2024 (MIA) - The SDSM executive board reviewed Wednesday the report on the procedure of nominating candidates for the presidential elections, and supported Stevo Pendarovski as its candidate after considering all analyses and public opinion surveys.

Pendarovski is a winning candidate, close to the people, sharing progressive values, and having a clear vision for the country's European future. During the current term, Pendarovski restored the reputation, integrity and credibility of the office of President, demonstrating what it means to be a true president of all citizens. Pendarovski is a representative of all citizens, regardless of ethnic, political, religious or other background. This is the profile of the candidate that the country needs and the profile of the future head of state, SDSM said in a press release.

The proposal should be endorsed by the party's central board and confirmed at the congress slated for Sunday, March 3.
