ELECTIONS 2024 / Mickoski says Siljanovska-Davkova an overwhelming favorite, Pendarovski a serious candidate
- VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski expects their candidate Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova to win against SDSM-backed Stevo Pendarovski in the May 8 presidential runoff.
Skopje, 27 February 2024 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski expects their candidate Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova to win against SDSM-backed Stevo Pendarovski in the May 8 presidential runoff.
"I believe Macedonia will get more from Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova compared to the other candidates, one or two of whom are serious ones, while some play the role of opposition to the opposition," Mickoski told Sitel.
Incumbent President Stevo Pendarovski, he adds, is a candidate who is vying for the runoff, although our surveys and analyses have shown that Siljanovska-Davkova will have over 100,000 more votes after the first round.
"I believe this will be a serious message for voters to mobilize for the runoff, held in parallel with the parliamentary elections," says Mickoski.
He reiterates that VMRO-DPMNE will not accept DUI's proposal for election of the President in Parliament.
"This is an attempt to defocus the public from their crimes, an attempt to impose a narrative, an attempt for blackmail over their participation in the runoff," notes Mickoski.
