Skopje, 4 May 2023 (MIA) – A meeting with university professors from the fields of pedagogy and psychology, security and cyber violence will be held Friday at the Ministry of Education. The meeting is expected to result in conclusions representing the initial step for improving institutional care over the proper development of young people, said the Ministry in a press release. 

In the press release, the Ministry said that bringing up young generations is an obligation for the whole of society and all stakeholders.

“The educational system has a primary role in molding young people into individuals who will accept and implement real human, ethical and moral values and norms. But, the kinds of generations we create doesn’t only depend on the teachers and school workers. This is an obligation of all stakeholders in society. The events in our neighborhood sounded a serious alarm over the need to elevate the institutional, familial and individual commitment to proper growth and development to an even higher level,” said the Ministry.

The Education Ministry added that numerous legislations, measures and activities have been implemented recently, and the expert psychological and pedagogical services in the schools are constantly being strengthened.

“As creators of the educational policies, the Ministry of Education and Science, alongside the Government of North Macedonia and all other relevant institutions, in line with their duties, have immediately began revising the upbringing component of the educational system, the mechanisms for detection of challenges and forms of providing support to students and families,” said the Ministry.

The Education Ministry said it expects the support of all relevant stakeholders, the expert public, and the civil and non-governmental sector.
