Skopje, 6 December 2023 (MIA) - The information and communication infrastructure in primary schools in North Macedonia is being improved. Almost 40 schools already have up-to-date equipment that students can use to safely access the global Internet network and explore school curricula, as well as additional educational content, the Ministry of Education and Science said in a press release on Wednesday.

The Education Ministry adds that wireless access points will be in place in all classrooms, as well as content filters optimized for educational purposes only.  

"To protect students, the Ministry of Education and Science will use a centralized system to restrict access to age-inappropriate websites and content. The equipment was procured through the Ministry's project on promoting primary education, which is funded by the World Bank," the press release reads.

The Ministry notes it has previously invested in new desk computers and laptops for the schools, interactive smart boards, 3D scanners, printers, projectors, systems for storing and managing data, as well as teaching and visual aids, etc. ssh/nn/
