Skopje, 10 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska met Wednesday with French Ambassador Cyrille Baumgartner, discussing the excellent cooperation between the two countries in the area of education.

"Minister Janevska expressed gratitude to the French Government and people for the support over the country's EU integrations process, stressing that France is an important ally in bringing the country closer to the European education values. Janevska briefed the Ambassador on the changes to elementary and secondary education, revision of the elementary education concept, the process for drafting the Law on Secondary Education and the Law on Secondary Vocation Education, as well as the steps the Government will take to improve the country's educational process," the Ministry of Education and Science said in a press release.

Janevska and Baumgartner also discussed the studying of French on all levels and opportunities for its greater popularization.

"Interlocutors expressed expectation that the current cooperation aimed at improving and intensifying educational practices will continue in the future," the press release reads. ssh/nn/
