Skopje, 29 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi met Monday with Greek Ambassador Sophia Philippidou, discussing opportunities for strengthening trade exchange between the two countries.

Minister Durmishi briefed Ambassador Philippidou about the Ministry's new responsibilities, in accordance with the reorganization of institutions, and said that greater focus will now be paid on improving the business climate for domestic and foreign investors, as well as improving the labor market, the Ministry of Economy and Labor said in a press release.

"Durmishi said that in accordance with the data, Greece ranks 5th in trade exchange with North Macedonia, and in just 10 years, as of 2023, total investments from Greece to North Macedonia amounted to EUR 445 million, which means that Greece is one of our biggest investors and trade partners," the press release reads.

Interlocutors agreed that "increasing cooperation between the two neighboring countries and strengthening good neighborly relations will bring progress and stability to the entire region and benefit the citizens of both countries."ssh/ad/
