Economy Minister Durmishi meets German Ambassador Drexler

Skopje, 22 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Economy and Labor Besar Durmishi met Monday with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to North Macedonia, Petra Drexler.
According to the Ministry, at the meeting Durmishi highlighted the fact that Germany is North Macedonia’s largest trade partner with 24 percent participation in the country’s total trade, and 40 percent in the total trade with EU states.
“For us, as the Ministry of Economy and Labor, under whose competency are the conditions for work of the foreign investors, it is of great importance to work on improving the corporate climate, so that we have more investments that will mean greater employment and bigger economic growth. The more German companies invest in North Macedonia, the more the country’s exports will grow,” Durmishi said at the meeting.
At the meeting it was noted that Germany is a partner and supporter of North Macedonia on its path to full-fledged EU membership, while the Berlin Process, as an intergovernmental initiative for cooperation aimed at accelerating the Euro-integration process “is a clear indicator of the support we are receiving from Germany”.
Minister Durmishi voiced hope that the trend of cooperation with Germany that currently exists will continue and intensify in all areas, “with the ultimate goal of accelerating the process of North Macedonia’s accessiont o the EU”.
