Skopje, 22 June 2022 (MIA) – Democratic Renewal of Macedonia (DOM) said Wednesday it would leave the Government if the French proposal was accepted. The DOM executive board unanimously decided that the proposal is unacceptable and the Government should reject it. Open issues with Bulgaria should be resolved bilaterally through good will, mutual respect and in line with European values. DOM remains on the position that the Macedonian language and identity are non-negotiable. If the Government accepts this so-called French proposal, DOM will leave the Government and the parliamentary majority, the party said in a press release. It adds that the proposal would turn the country’s EU accession process into an endless agony, bringing into question the very start of the negotiations. Earlier, Democratic Union (DS) and the Liberal-Democratic Party (LDP) also said they would leave the Government if the French proposal was accepted.
