Dimovski – Deker: Intensive reforms contribute to more effective institutions to serve citizens

Skopje, 27 June 2022 (MIA) – Government Secretary General Metodija Dimovski held Monday a meeting with the Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Robert Dekker, who expressed Amsterdam's strong support for the intensive reform and European integration processes of North Macedonia, with an emphasis on the public administration reforms, rule of law and solving the bilateral issue with Bulgaria.
Secretary General Dimovski emphasized the important steps in the public administration’s reforms and its optimization in accordance with European guidelines and criteria. He said that the reorganization of the work of the General Secretariat towards better synchronicity and effectiveness in the Government’s operations is one of the basic priorities.
Dimovski stressed that the Republic of North Macedonia over the past seventeen years of its pending candidacy status has implemented and achieved European standards in multiple areas, emphasizing that this European integration process, despite the challenges, moves the country forward and contributes to increased awareness of citizens to deal with corruption and law breaking.
The practice of the General Secretariat to support and cooperate with the civil sector and optimally use its resources in policy making was deemed as exceptionally positive at the meeting as well, the Government said in a press release. dk/ik/
