Dimitrovska: Communication with person indicted in 'Additive' not related to the case

Skopje, 30 April 2025 (MIA) - Head of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (SCPC), Tatjana Dimitrovska, has spoken out after the information about her communication with a person indicted in the case dubbed "Additive", pointing out that the conversations had no connection with the case. She notes that it was a friendly communication, which took place before the start of the official proceedings and before a detention measure has been ordered against the person indicted. According to Dimitrovska, the content shared was of a public nature and had no connection with any corrupt actions.

"I would like to inform the public that my communication with a family friend, who was later indicted in the "Additive" case, took place in the period before the competent prosecution began proceedings against him. From the statement of the Public Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime and Corruption, it is apparent that our communication lasted until December 2024, or before a detention measure was ordered against him. After this measure was ordered against him, I ceased communication," Dimitrovska says in a statement to the media.

She adds that the conversations she had did not contain anything that could be related to the case.

"The content of the communication refers to conversations with no connection to the "Additive" case. Some of the information shared refers to public documents whose content was made public before our communication, and the rest is normal friendly communication," she notes.

In the statement, Dimitrovska points out that her colleagues from the Commission have no connection to the case, adding that the case has neither been assigned to her nor does she have the possibility to influence the procedure.

"As president of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption, I would like to underline that the credibility and integrity of the institution must not be questioned under any circumstances. The principle of presumption of innocence, i.e. everyone is innocent until proven otherwise, as well as the principle of the rule of law, must be respected. The remaining six members of the institution I represent have no connection with the crime for which I am suspected. A procedure to verify the property status of the aforementioned person is underway at the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption. The case has not been assigned to me for handling, and in accordance with the established rules, I have no possibility to influence the course of the procedure or the outcome. The decisions of the SCPC are made collectively, by a majority vote of the members," she adds.

She says she will fully cooperate with judicial authorities and comply with all precautionary measures.

"I will fully cooperate with the competent judicial authorities and I expect a swift and transparent resolution of the case. I will fully comply with the precautionary measures. Until the final statement of the prosecution, I will not make any additional public statements, unless circumstances dictate otherwise, guided by the interest of institutional integrity and transparency. I expect that the integrity of the SCPC, my integrity and the integrity of my family will be respected until then," says the SCPC head.

The Public Prosecutor's Office filed a motion for precautionary measures against State Commission for Prevention of Corruption (SCPC) president Tatjana Dimitrovska regarding the case dubbed "Additive".

The "Additive" case relates to the abuse of procedures and money laundering in the procurement of coal additives for Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM), with 31 individuals and five legal entities indicted.
