Dimitrievski: No coalition agreement yet; party leadership to decide on supporting president

Struga, 28 April 2024 (MIA) - ZNAM Movement has not yet finalized a coalition agreement with the major parties regarding the votes for the upcoming presidential elections, the party's leader Maksim Dimitrievski told MIA urging for a massive voter turnout in the elections on May 8.

He reiterated his pre-election stance, stating that he has neither the moral nor ethical right to request votes for any of the candidates based on the votes received in his name.

“Courteous congratulations were extended to those who garnered the greatest support, from me to Professor Davkova, and also to Mr. Mickoski. At this moment, no coalition has been agreed upon. We will act according to the decision of the party leadership,” Dimitrievski said.

Asking for support for the ZNAM MP candidate list, he noted that he, as an individual, will also back the presidential elections.

Dimitrievski, while seeking support for the ZNAM's list principal in the fifth election district, Vesna Bendevska, announced a continuation of the path towards the Euro integration process. He emphasized the importance of finding suitable solutions by redefining the negotiation framework, addressing issues with neighboring Bulgaria, and ensuring Macedonia's full integration into the EU. However, he stressed the need to protect national Macedonian interests, our identity, language, uniqueness, and continuity.

During his meetings with Struga residents he pointed out that a priority of his party is the development of a national declaration, aimed at defining, as he emphasized, after 33 years, the national interests of the Macedonians, as well as directly addressing real coexistence.

Seeking confidence from the citizens in the upcoming parliamentary elections, he pledges an analysis of the overall state of the country, a genuine fight against corruption, with a strategy to combat political corruption, which, according to Dimitrievski, is prevalent in the highest echelons of political entities.

He announced new programs, including in the development of tourism, agriculture, and all economic sectors, to achieve Macedonia's sustainability as a state.

ZNAM’s list principal in the fifth election district, Vesna Bendevska, urged the people of Struga on May 8 to vote for, as she stated, the new political option, which, according to her, is formed by the citizens.

“On April 24th, the citizens showed and proved that they can recognize the new option. ZNAM is the only option based on integrity, values, and principles. And the people recognized that on April 24th with the tremendous support for our president and presidential candidate, Maksim Dimitrievski,” she said.

She called for a large voter turnout in the parliamentary elections, stressing that it is crucial for citizens to take control of the situation.

Dimitrievski and Bendevska have previously met with citizens in Krushevo and Kichevo, and meetings will continue in Ohrid Sunday evening.
