Skopje, 25 September 2025 (MIA) - Economic indicators in certain sectors are finally showing positive results. I am glad that, after a long time, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures show the private sector as the main driver of economic growth, with construction and agriculture making particularly significant contributions. Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska told TV21, noting growth today relies on private sector activity and investments, not public consumption.
“I am especially encouraged and pleased that the private sector is creating new opportunities, investing in development, and stimulating the productivity of the economy. Construction is registering impressive growth, directly influencing infrastructure development, and agriculture, after many years of negative performance, has shown positive trends for two consecutive quarters. This clearly shows we are on the right path and achieving the planned results,” Dimitrieska-Kochoska said.
She noted that, despite obstacles in the public sector and market limitations, private businesses keep driving the economy, supporting GDP stability and sustainability.
“I am especially encouraged that the private sector, rather than public consumption as in the past, is now driving economic growth,” Dimitrieska-Kochoska pointed out.
The Minister emphasized that the Government is committed to supporting further development of the private sector.
“We will continue to promote a business-friendly environment, invest in innovation, new jobs, and infrastructure, and maintain fiscal discipline. The private sector, especially construction and agriculture, demonstrates that it is the main driver of economic growth, and we will continue to support it with concrete measures and strategies. We expect this positive momentum to continue in the coming quarters, and the Government will remain focused on strengthening economic foundations, supporting businesses, and creating a favorable investment climate,” Dimitrieska-Kochoska said.
She underscored that these private sector results are also driven by the support companies received from the Hungarian loan implemented through the Development Bank.
