Dimitrieska Kochoska: Corridor X railway is complex project, banks to submit offers by July 7
Skopje, 28 June 2025 (MIA) -- There has not been a single offer of funding as of yet for the Corridor X high-speed railway project because it is complex and international banks need time to review the planned works, Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska Kochoska told a press conference Saturday.
She said that the deadline for banks to submit their offers was extended to July 7.
She added that the Ministry of Finance had sent inquiries to 22 international financial institutions and another two asked to be also considered.
"Their interest is great," Dimitrieska Kochoska said.
She said the government was looking to select the bid "with the lowest price for the railway."
According to a Ministry of Finance press release, requests were sent to the World Bank; the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; the European Investment Bank; the OPEC Fund for International Development; the French Development Agency; Germany’s KfW Development Bank; the Italian Development Bank; the Japan International Cooperation Agency; Germany’s DZ Bank; Deutsche Bank; Morgan Stanley; Citibank; JP Morgan; Bank of America; Goldman Sachs; Austria’s UniCredit Bank; Raiffeisen Bank; Erste Bank; France’s Société Générale; Italy’s Banca IMI; UK-based Standard Chartered; and Japan’s MUFG Bank. mr/
