Skopje, 20 October 2023 (MIA) - Diamond Mall, the new investment of Turkish company "Limak", part of multifunctional project "Diamond of Skopje", opened in downtown Skopje on Friday.

The mall, set to open 1,000 jobs, will have over 150 shops, a gourmet avenue and dream zone for children and youth.

"I consider Diamond Mall an investment that will vitalize the economy and contribute to the opening of new jobs not only for Skopje but also the Balkan economy in general," said Limak honorary president Nihat Özdemir at the opening event.

"Through this unique concept, Diamond Mall will be much more than a mall, it will be a life center. It is the last link in the Diamond of Skopje project, which investment reaches EUR 350 million and offers jobs to over 1,000 people in various sectors," said Özdemir of the project that consists of residential buildings, a hotel, business premises and a mall, which is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024.

Turkish Ambassador Hasan Mehmet Sekizkök said Skopje gets a new mall build in line with the latest construction standards for such facilities, adding that future planners will be able to learn from the project on modern design and its functionality.

The Diamond Mall opening was attended by Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, Government Ministers, representatives of Turkish banks and companies operating in North Macedonia, and the business community.
