Deputy PM Nikoloski meets Hungary’s Defense Minister Szalay-Bobrovniczky
- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski told Hungary’s Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky at a meeting Friday that “Macedonia remains firmly committed to actively participate in the promotion and preservation of peace and stability in the region”.
Skopje, 27 September 2024 (MIA) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski told Hungary’s Defense Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky at a meeting Friday that “Macedonia remains firmly committed to actively participate in the promotion and preservation of peace and stability in the region”.
“As a NATO member state, we are ensuring a continued contribution to the strengthening of global and trans-Atlantic security,” Nikoloski stressed at the bilateral meeting in Ohrid, held within the frameworks of the official visit of a delegation from the Hungarian Government led by Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the meeting highlighted the excellent cooperation in defense as a significant segment in the fulfillment of the goals of the NATO alliance and ensuring peace and security on a global level.
“Macedonia is actively participating in regional initiatives that are especially important for mutual cooperation, and it has a significant contribution to regional development,” Deputy Prime Minister Nikoloski said.
After the meeting, Nikoloski said the bilateral relations with Hungary are “excellent” and that Orban’s visit is a “confirmation of the strong support provided by Hungary to Macedonia in the fulfillment of its strategic goals”.
“With the ministers we spoke about many political and economic issues, new opportunities and cooperation between the two countries. Hungary is our long-standing friend and partner and the support it provides for our European path is significant at this time, and we hope that in the period to come we will have new joint initiatives and cooperation in various areas,” Nikoloski said after the meeting.
