Deputy PM Nikoloski announces three new projects for Gevgelija municipality

Gevgelija, 25 July 2025 (MIA) - We have several ongoing projects, and I would like to announce three new ones because our work doesn't stop, we are constantly launching new initiatives. With the support of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, there is currently an open call for selecting a contractor to work in the villages of Moin, Prdejci, and Bogorodica, where new streets and infrastructure improvements are planned. These developments will mean a lot, and I expect a contractor to be selected by mid-August, with construction starting in September, Deputy PM and Minister of Transport and Communications Aleksandar Nikoloski said at the opening of the "Saint Clement of Ohrid" boulevard in Gevgelija.

Minister of Local Self-Government Zlatko Perinski stated that the projects in Gevgelija are of exceptional importance.

“We have demonstrated our role as a reliable partner to all municipalities, regardless of political affiliation. The effectiveness and pace of project realization largely depend on the leadership at the local level. Mayor Andon Saramandov has shown vision and commitment, leading initiatives that bring long-term value to the municipality,” Perinski said.

The Mayor of Gevgelija, Andon Saramandov, emphasized that the newly opened “St. Clement of Ohrid” street, also known as the Western Boulevard, significantly reduces traffic congestion in the city center, particularly around the “Krste Petkov Misirkov” primary school.

“The project took about four years to complete, during which we faced numerous problems and challenges. It is both an honor and a pleasure that Gevgelija is now receiving this essential capital project that benefits all citizens. The city now has a modern bypass road, 1,200 meters long, which will serve the needs of current and future generations,” Saramandov stated.
