Deputy PM Marichikj visits Strasbourg
Skopje, 5 October 2022 (MIA) - Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj is paying a two-day visit to Strasbourg, where the EU-North Macedonia Joint Parliamentary Committee will hold its 20th meeting.
Deputy PM Marichikj will address the European Parliament on sharing of views with officials of North Macedonia's government, the Council of the EU and the European Commission on the relations between North Macedonia and the EU alongside Czech Minister for European Affairs Mikuláš Bek, Michela Matuella, Acting Director for the Western Balkans at the European Commission’s DG NEAR, Elza Fenet, Head of the Western Balkans Division at the European External Affairs Service, and MEP and EP rapporteur for North Macedonia, Ilhan Kyuchyuk, the Secretariat for European Affairs said.
During his visit, Marichikj will meet with MEP Andreas Schieder, co-chair of the EU-North Macedonia Joint Parliamentary Committee, Slovenian MEP Irena Joveva, who also co-ordinates the informal "Friends of North Macedonia" group, Dutch MEP Tineke Strik and Slovenian MEP Matjaz Nemec.
The 20th meeting of the EU-North Macedonia Joint Parliamentary Committee, set to be opened by its co-chairs MEP Andreas Schieder and MP Sonja Mirakovska, will also focus on rule of law: fight against organized crime and corruption, civil society and media, the energy crisis and environment, good neighborly relations and regional cooperation and the report on the Jean Monnet Dialogue.
