Skopje, 4 September 2023 (MIA) – Deputy Prime Minister in charge of good governance policies, Slavica Grkovska, met Monday with the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, with whom she spoke about Italy’s candidacy for Rome to host World Expo 2030, organized under the auspices of Paris-based International Bureau of Expositions (BIE), said the Government in a press release.

Grkovska welcomed Italy’s candidacy and noted that it is very important for North Macedonia to be a part of such international exhibitions promoting the resources and capacities of the country. This, she added, is especially important for the development of the economy and the country’s overall progress.

Deputy PM Grkovska stressed that North Macedonia and Italy have a long-standing fruitful cooperation and voiced her gratitude over the support provided by Italy to North Macedonia on its Euro-integration path. Grkovska noted that her Office has established excellent cooperation with the Italian Anti-Corruption Authority (ANAC).

At the meeting, Mayor Gualtieri noted that North Macedonia and Italy will continue to promote and deepen the bilateral relations, and added that further promotion of the cooperation between Rome and Skopje will follow.
