Deputy PM Bytyqi meets Slovenian Ambassador Presker

Skopje, 17 November 2023 (MIA) - Bilateral ties between North Macedonia and Slovenia are friendly and without open questions, based on traditional friendship, strong strategic partnership and long-standing constructive cooperation and support, both politically and economically, assessed Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi and Slovenian Ambassador to North Macedonia, Gregor Presker, at a meeting on Friday.

Slovenia is the fifth-largest investor in North Macedonia, accounting for 6.9 percent of the total influx of foreign direct investments, the Government said in a press release.

Deputy PM Bytyqi and Slovenian Ambassador Presker expressed their commitment for continuation of the excellent cooperation, with the latter acknowledging the equal treatment of foreign investors and domestic companies in North Macedonia.

The Ambassador expressed Slovenia's unreserved support for North Macedonia in the implementation of Cluster 2: Internal Market and Cluster 3: Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth, which the Deputy PM welcomed.

Interlocutors also discussed the possibility of working together to bring young people back into the country. Bytyqi announced that for the first time ever, the National Development Strategy, which is currently being drafted, will give young people a clear picture of where North Macedonia will be in the next 20 years, helping them find their place in society through the creation of highly paid jobs, reads the press release. ssh/ik/
