Denion Meidani decreed Albania's Ambassador to North Macedonia
- Albania's President Bajram Begaj signed on Wednesday the decree appointing Denion Meidani as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of North Macedonia. The decree enters into force immediately.
Tirana, 21 February 2024 (MIA) - Albania's President Bajram Begaj signed on Wednesday the decree appointing Denion Meidani as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Albania to the Republic of North Macedonia. The decree enters into force immediately.
Meidani previously received the support of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Albanian Parliament after presenting his platform. He noted that the relations between the two countries serve as an example of collaboration in the region and pledged to strive for further advancement of the relations.
"North Macedonia is more than just a good neighbor; it is a partner, ally, and supporter in our joint path towards regional and Euro-integrative processes. The signed agreements between the two governments not only further institutionalized our relations but also have and will continue to significantly impact the improvement and facilitation of the lives of our citizens," the new Albanian Ambassador said among other.
Meidani, the son of the former Albanian president and prominent university professor Rexhep Meidani, is to replace the outgoing Ambassador Fatos Reka.
He has previously served as Director General at the Ministry of Economy, head of internal control at the Ministry of Justice, head of the coordination center against violent extremism, etc.
