Defence Minister Petrovska pays official visit to Romania

Skopje, 9 November 2023 (MIA) - Defence Minister Slavjanka Petrovska begins on Thursday her visit to Romania.

Minister Petrovska will be greeted with the highest state honours by the Romanian Minister of National Defence Angel Tîlvăr, followed by a tête-à-tête meeting. Moreover, a meeting of the two delegations is to be held.

Petrovska and Tîlvăr are to discuss global and European security situation, the contribution of both countries in strengthening the security of the Alliance and security in the region, as well as the development of the bilateral Macedonian-Romanian defence cooperation, the Ministry of Defence said in a press release.

Minister Petrovska will visit the Macedonian soldiers at the Otopeni air base, who are an integral part of the multinational NATO forces in Romania, within the framework of the Alliance’s enhanced vigilance activities.

In this base, Minister Petrovska will be welcomed by the commander of the Multinational Brigade South-East, Brigadier General Constantin Nicolaescu, and she will be briefed on the mission and activities of the multinational forces of the Alliance.
