Defence Minister Misajlovski visits 1st Infantry Battalion

Skopje, 19 September 2024 (MIA) – Defence Minister Vlado Misajlovski, accompanied by deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Azim Nuredini, the Commander of the Operations Command, Brigadier General Besnik Emini, the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski, visited troops on Thursday at the “Chede Filipovski-Dame” barracks in Kichevo, where the 1st Infantry Battalion is based.

During the visit, Minister Misajlovski was briefed by the Commander of the 1st Infantry Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Zorancho Ristovski, on the mission, tasks, and responsibilities of the unit, as well as the involvement of the battalion members in peacekeeping missions, exercises, and support for other institutions, the Ministry of Defence said in a press release.

According to the press release, Minister Misajlovski highlighted to those present that he will prioritize enhancing the equipment for the 1st Infantry Battalion in the near future.

As part of today’s visit, the personnel also provided a presentation of some of the equipment used by the 1st Infantry Battalion.
