Defence Minister Misajlovski meets Hungarian Ambassador Klein

Skopje, 29 July 2024 (MIA) - Defence Minister Vlado Misajlovski met Monday with Hungarian Ambassador András Klein and Defence Attaché, Lieutenant Colonel, László Nádas, extending gratitude for Hungary's great support and assistance to the country, the Ministry of Defence said in a press release.
"Gratitude to Hungary, which has been our big supporter for NATO membership, which helped us when we faced the COVID-19 pandemic, the migrant crisis, the floods, and a country that gives us support for the start of accession negotiations with the European Union," said Minister Misajlovski, adding that any support in the country's development towards achieving the second strategic goal of EU membership is welcome.
Ambassador Klein expressed confidence that Hungary will continue to support the country, politically and in an advisory capacity during the accession process.
Talks also tackled the security situation in Europe and beyond, with Minister Misajlovski pointing out that the country remains committed to actively participate in promoting peace and security through the EU's defence initiatives that will contribute to strengthening global and transatlantic security.
"Interlocutors discussed strengthening defence cooperation, which would include joint trainings and exercises, use of our regional facilities including the Krivolak army field, the Regional Center for Public Relations, the Military Medical Center, training and education in the Training Centres in Hungary, expert meetings in several areas, etc." reads the press release.
