Death toll from Kochani deadly fire rises to 62 after burn patient dies in Belgrade
- The Health Ministry said Thursday that Stojanche Stefanov, born 2001 in Kochani, succumbed to his injuries earlier today at the Military and Medical Academy in Belgrade.

Skopje, 17 April 2025 (MIA) – The death toll from the March 16 deadly fire in a nightclub in Kochani rose to 62 after yet another burn patient, flown abroad for treatment, has died.
The Health Ministry said Thursday that Stojanche Stefanov, born 2001 in Kochani, succumbed to his injuries earlier today at the Military and Medical Academy in Belgrade.
“The patient from day one, according to the initial triage performed by the medical teams, was transported for treatment at the Military and Medical Academy in Belgrade. Intubated, he remained in critical condition throughout the month,” said the Health Ministry in a press release.
The patient had burns to 27 percent of his body and life-threatening smoke inhalation injuries.
“As a result of the gravity of his injuries, he was unstable and in very critical condition for much of the hospitalization,” the health authorities said.
The Health Ministry offers the deepest condolences to the family and to all those affected by the tragedy in Kochani, said the press release.
