Criminal Court ex-president Vladimir Panchevski to be released from prison by decision of Supreme Court
Skopje, 16 February 2022 (MIA) – The Supreme Court has overturned a verdict of the Veles Basic Court and the Skopje Appellate Court, by which former president of the Skopje-based Criminal Court Vladimir Panchevski was sentenced to prison for manipulation with the Automated Court Case Management Information System (ACCMIS). Skopje prison director Filip Andov told MIA that by a decision of the Supreme Court the case is returned for trial and Panchevski’s prison sentence is revoked. He is to be released from the Skopje prison on Thursday. Panchevski, who began serving his prison sentence on February 3, 2022, was initially sentenced by the Veles Court to three years and six months in prison, but the Skopje Appellate Court then ordered a prison senstnece of two and a half years. According to the indictment, in the period between Jan. 23, 2013 and Sept. 14, 2016, Panchevski gave oral orders to employees with access to the system to distribute concrete cases personally to the judges he had handpicked.
