Criminal Court approves indictment in 'Additive' case

Skopje, 20 August 2025 (MIA) - The Criminal Court said Wednesday it has approved an indictment against a person identified by the initials B.N. in the case dubbed 'Additive', rejecting the defense's objections. In addition, an indictment proposal has been submitted against three more people for the crime of "disclosing official secrets", and the possibility of consolidating charges is also being considered.

"The Court has adopted a decision rejecting the defense's objections and approving the indictment in full,” the Criminal Court said in a press release.

The Court notes that the indictment proposal was submitted to the court by the Public Prosecutor's Office for Prosecuting Organized Crime and Corruption against the persons identified by the initials B.P.M., T.D. and M.S. for the criminal offence under Article 360 of the Criminal Code - "disclosing official secrets", not subject to assessment.

It adds that a decision on the request to consolidate charges within the 'Additive' case, will be made in the coming period.

The 'Additive' case relates to the abuse of procedures and money laundering in the procurement of coal additives for Power Plants of North Macedonia (ESM).

The investigation covers over 30 individuals, including former directors and officials. Charges include "criminal association", "abuse of office and authority", "money laundering", and "disclosing official secrets". 

The trial continues on Thursday at the Idrizovo penitentiary.
