Skopje, 21 March 2022 (MIA) – The COVID-19 vaccination caravan set off in Shuto Orizari on Monday and will pass through another 13 municipalities over the next couple of weeks. Health Minister Bekim Sali, United States Ambassador Kate Byrnes, UNICEF Representative Patrizia DiGiovanni, as well as WHO and USAID representatives attended today’s launch event. “We are continuing to promote vaccination as the safest way to immunize all citizens. The COVID-19 crisis is still here and I urge all citizens to come to the vaccination sites. Let me thank all health workers who support this campaign,” said Minister Sali. The caravan will also visit the municipalities of Kratovo (March 22), Radovish (March 23), Strumica (March 24), Novo Selo (March 25), Gazi Baba (March 26), Kumanovo (March 27), Lipkovo (March 28), Arachinovo (March 29), Chucher Sandevo (March 30), Zelenikovo (March 31), Vrapchishte (April 1), Kichevo (April 2), and Struga (April 3). U.S. Ambassador Byrnes said the caravan is implemented alongside partners from the WHO and UNICEF, in an attempt to find ways to promote vaccines. “I am vaccinated and personally believe that vaccines are safe and effective. The pandemic is still not over and we are partners in this project because it not only gives people the opportunity to get inoculated but also shares information on vaccines and represents a chance for people to talk to professionals on the subject matter. I hope the caravan will encourage people to get the vaccine,” said Byrnes.
