COVID-19: 882 new infections and 14 fatalities
Skopje, 22 August 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia on Sunday reported 14 deaths and 882 new cases after a total of 6,591 COVID-19 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours.

Out of the confirmed cases, Skopje registered 333, the Health Ministry citing Public Health Institute data.

Of the 14 fatalities, Skopje reported four deaths (aged 54, 68, 69, and 84), as well as Tetovo, where the patients were aged 49, 67, 68 and 81. Gostivar registered three deaths, and one each was reported in Kumanovo, Ohrid, and Vinica. They all died in hospital.

In the past 24 hours, 140 people were registered as having recovered from the virus, said the press release.

At the moment, 11,106 cases are active nationwide, of which 3,693 in Skopje.

Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has recorded 168,872 COVID-19 cases and 152,098. The death toll has reached 5,668. A total of 1,108,429 COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far.
