COVID-19: 690 new cases, 676 recoveries, 18 die
Skopje, 7 February 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered 690 new COVID-19 infections after 2,790 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours, as well as 18 deaths and 676 recoveries, the Health Ministry said on Monday. Of the new cases, 490 were registered in Skopje, followed by Kavadarci – 42, Kumanovo – 26, Strumica – 25, Shtip – 20, Gostivar – 15, Ohrid – 15, Veles – 9, Negotino – 9, Bitola – 8, Tetovo – 6, Prilep – 4, Gevgelija – 4, Kichevo – 3, Kochani – 3, Debar – 3, Struga – 2, Radovish – 1, Kriva Palanka – 1, Vinica – 1, Probishtip – 1, Kratovo – 1 and Demir Kapija – 1. In addition, 94 of the total number of new cases (690) are reinfections. Eighteen deaths were registered in the past 24 hours, including 12 in Skopje (aged 65, 66, 69, 70, 71, 73, 73, 76, 79, 87, 88 and 89), two in Ohrid (79 and 85), on in Gostivar (84), one in Struga (78), one in Kumanovo (66) and one in Bitola (83). According to the Covid-diagnosed fatality registry, three people died in the period Feb.3-Feb.5. Six of those who died (18) were fully vaccinated. At the moment, 12,317 cases are active nationwide. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,821,672 tests, recording 278,872 COVID-19 cases and 257,956 recoveries. The death toll has reached 8,599.
