COVID-19: 674 new cases, 27 patients die
Skopje, 29 August 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia on Sunday registered 674 new infections and 27 fatalities after a total of 4,618 COVID-19 tests were conducted in labs across the country in the past 24 hours. Out of the confirmed cases, 253 were recorded in Skopje, the Health Ministry said in a press release, citing Public Health Institute data. Of the 27 fatalities, Tetovo registered seven deaths, Gostivar-6 and Skopje-5. Debar, Sveti Nikole and Struga recorded two deaths each, while Kumanovo, Strumica and Veles one each. The deceased were aged 36-89. In the past 24 hours, 403 people recovered from the virus. At the moment, 14,360 cases are active nationwide, of which е 5,348 in Skopje. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has recorded 175,330 COVID-19 cases and 155,101 recoveries. The death toll has reached 5,869. A total of 1,149,699 COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far.
