COVID-19: 590 new cases and two deaths 
Skopje, 16 August 2022 (MIA) - North Macedonia on Tuesday reported 590 new COVID-19 infections, including 142 reinfections, after 1,593 tests performed in the past 24 hours. According to data of the Public Health Institute, there were two deaths and 583 recoveries in the same time period, the Health Ministry said. Of the new cases, Skopje reported 261. Currently, 3,564 COVID-19 cases are active nationwide. A 72-year-old person in Skopje and a 82-year-old person died of coronavirus-related complications in hospital, said the press release. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 2,137,986 tests, recording 336,041 COVID-19 cases and 323,051 recoveries. The death toll has reached 9,426.
