COVID-19: 588 new cases, 26 patients recover, 8 die
Skopje, 11 August 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia recorded 588 new cases out of 5,780 COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours. Of these, 230 new cases were registered in Skopje, followed by Tetovo – 101, Gostivar – 82, Kichevo – 48, Debar – 17, Ohrid – 16, Strumica – 16, Kumanovo – 15, Struga – 11, Bitola – 8, Kavadarci – 6, Sveti Nikole – 6, Radovish – 5, Berovo – 5, Veles – 4, Valandovo – 4, Shtip – 3, Vinica – 3, Resen – 2, Makedonski Brod – 2, Prilep – 1, Kochani – 1, Demir Kapija – 1 and Pehchevo – 1. Twenty-six coronavirus patients recovered, and eight patients – two from Tetovo (66 and 72), two from Gostivar (67 and 72), one from Skopje (65), one from Prilep (51), one from Kichevo (74) and one from Veles (65) – died in the same period, the Ministry of Health said on Wednesday. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has registered 159,269 confirmed coronavirus cases and 150,613 people have recovered. The death toll has reached 5,521. At the moment, there are 3,135 active cases nationwide, including 1,053 in the capital Skopje. A total of 1,033,882 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the country so far.
