COVID-19: 521 new cases and two deaths in past 24 hours
Skopje, 17 August 2022 (MIA) - North Macedonia on Wednesday reported 521 COVID-19 infections, including 120 reinfections, after 1,231 tests were performed in the past 24 hours. In the same time period, 485 recoveries and three deaths were also reported, according to data of the Public Health Institute.
Of the new cases, Skopje reported 201. At the moment, 3,595 cases are active nationwide, said the Health Ministry.
A 78-year-old patient in Skopje and a 48-year-old patient in Struga died in hospital in the past 24 hours. Also, a 74-year-old person died in a Kichevo hospital on August 5, shows the e-registry of Covid-related deaths.
Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 2,139,217 tests, recording 336,560 COVID-19 cases and 323,536 recoveries. The death toll has reached 9,429.
