COVID-19: 491 new cases and three deaths in past 24 hours
Skopje, 18 August 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia on Thursday reported 491 COVID-19 infections, including 139 reinfections, after 1,108 tests were performed in the past 24 hours. In the same time period, 595 recoveries and three deaths were also reported, according to data of the Public Health Institute.  Of the new cases, Skopje reported 203. At the moment, 3,483 cases are active nationwide, said the Health Ministry.  Three patients died in hospital in the past 24 hours, including one from Ohrid (aged 75), one from Struga (aged 56) and one from Veles (aged 78). Also, five people died in the period from August 5 to August 13, 2022, shows the e-registry of Covid-related deaths.  Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 2,140,325 tests, recording 337,040 COVID-19 cases and 324,120 recoveries. The death toll has reached 9,437.
