COVID-19: 473 new cases and three deaths in past 24 hours
Skopje, 19 August 2022 (MIA) – North Macedonia on Friday reported 473 COVID-19 infections, including 114 reinfections, after 1,131 tests were performed in the past 24 hours. In the same time period, 513 recoveries and three deaths were also reported, according to data of the Public Health Institute. Of the new cases, Skopje reported 204. At the moment, 3,440 cases are active nationwide, including 1,372 in the capital, said the Health Ministry. Three patients died in the past 24 hours, including one from Skopje, 76, a patient in Ohrid, 70, and one in Prilep, 93. Two patients died in hospital and one at home, said the press release. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 2,141,456 tests, recording 337,513 COVID-19 cases and 324,633 recoveries. The death toll has reached 9,440.
