Covid-19: 399 new cases, 17 deaths, 1,348 recoveries

Skopje, 5 October 2021 (MIA) — Of the 3,337 people tested for the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, 399 received a positive result, the Ministry of Health said in a press release Tuesday.
Of the new Covid-19 cases, 197 were diagnosed in Skopje. New cases were also recorded in Kumanovo – 49, Tetovo – 15, Kochani – 14, Bitola – 13, Kavadarci – 11, Veles and Kriva Palanka – 10 each, Strumica – 8, Shtip, Kichevo, Gevgelija and Kratovo – 6 each, Resen, Radovish, Probishtip and Valandovo – 5 each, Prilep – 4, Gostivar, Ohrid, Bogdanci and Makedonska Kamenica – 3 each, Negotino, Sveti Nikole and Vinica – 2 each, Struga, Debar, Berovo, Makedonski Brod, Demir Hisar and Pehchevo – 1 each.
In the past 24 hours, 1,348 people recovered from the virus and 17 people died from coronavirus-related complications.
Eight died in Skopje (aged 59, 65, 68, 70, 72, 80, 83 and 86), four died in Kumanovo (aged 64, 69, 71 and 79) and one each in Ohrid (aged 93), Radovish (aged 72), Strumica (aged 87), Bitola (aged 90) and Gostivar (aged 63). Of them, 16 died in hospital, and one died at home.
Additionally, four deaths between Sept. 24 and 30 were reported as covid-related, health authorities say. They were people aged 63 to 81 from Skopje, Tetovo, Veles and Ohrid. Of them, three died in hospital, and one died at home.
At the moment, 10,816 cases are active nationwide, of which 5,265 in Skopje.
Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has performed a total of 1,305,039 tests, recording 193,052 covid-19 cases and 175,496 recoveries. The death toll has reached 6,740. mr/
