COVID-19: 293 new cases and 10 deaths

Skopje, 3 October 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered Sunday 293 new COVID-19 infections after 2,636 tests were carried out in the past 24 hours. Citing Public Health Institution’s report, the Health Ministry said there were 10 fatalities in the same time period and 293 people who have recovered from the virus.

Of the new cases, Skopje reported 93, said the press release.

Ten people died in the past 24 hours, including two patients in Skopje aged 78 and 83. Shtip, Kavadarci, Kichevo, Prilep, Kriva Palanka, Kochani, Ohrid and Struga reported one death each, said the Health Ministry, adding they all died in hospital.

Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has registered 192,478 confirmed cases and 173,625 people who have recovered.

Death toll reached 6,704.

At the moment, there are 12,149 active cases nationwide, including 5,563 in the capital Skopje.

A total of 1,299,826 COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far.
