COVID-19: 280 new cases and five deaths in past 24 hours
Skopje, 26 December 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia in the past 24 hours registered five deaths and 280 COVID-19 infections after 3,929 tests were conducted in labs across the country. Of the new cases, Skopje registered 137. According to Public Health Institute data, 156 recoveries were registered in the same period, the Health Ministry said Sunday. Five deaths were registered in the past 24 hours in Skopje, Strumica, Kumanovo, Ohrid and Krusevo. All patients died in hospital. “According to the register of Covid-related deaths, five fatalities were reported in the period from November 17 until December 22, aged 62-69. Two patients died in hospital and three people at home,” said the Health Ministry. At the moment, 4,832 cases are active nationwide, including 2,440 in the capital Skopje. Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has registered 223,211 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 210,475 recoveries. The death toll has reached 7,904.
