COVID-19: 28 deaths and 526 new infections
Skopje, 23 September 2021 (MIA) – North Macedonia registered Thursday 526 new COVID-19 infections after 3,632 tests were carried out in the past 24 hours. Citing Public Health Institution’s report, the Health Ministry said there were 28 fatalities in the same time period and 830 people who have recovered from the virus.

Of the new cases, Skopje reported 245, said the press release.

Fourteen people died in the past 24 hours, including nine patients in Skopje aged 83-42. Kumanovo reported two deaths and Veles, Kratovo and Kichevo reported one each. They all died in hospitals, said the Health Ministry.

“Additionally, according to the registry of fatalities diagnosed with COVID-19 from the My Appointment e-service, 14 more people have been registered, who died in the period from September 2 to September 17. Of those, Skopje reported four deaths, Strumica two and Berovo, Kochani, Gostivar, Radovish, Kumanovo, Tetovo, Ohrid and Gevgelija reported one fatality each. They were aged 37-92. Seven patients died in hospitals whole the other seven died at home,” said the press release.

Since the onset of the epidemic, North Macedonia has registered 188,635 confirmed cases and 169,946 people who have recovered. Death toll reached 6,539. At the moment, there are 12,150 active cases nationwide, including 5,696 in Skopje.
